0.65 hectares planted in 1976, 1 hectare planted in 1949, 1953 and 1982 and 0.45 hectares planted in 1990 make up this cuvée of Pernand Île des Vergelesses, a total of 2.10 hectares.
This is the best climate in Pernand-Vergelesses, hence the name ‘Île des Vergelesses’, meaning the best part of the whole.
Located on a mid-slope facing east, this climat benefits from well-balanced clay-limestone soils and a subsoil composed of limestone found on the Corton hillside. This definitely makes it a ‘super’ premier cru. The wine is vinified without the use of pumping over or sulphites, and is harvested whole, except in years of frost or hail. 90% of the cuvée is matured in Burgundy barrels of several wines, and 10% in new barrels, for a period of 14 to 18 months.

Vintage 2022

Here, we're back to a generous, sunny vintage. A very dry, hot spring and summer could have taken their toll on the vines, but they were resilient, adapted very well and produced an exceptional vintage.
The wines are rich and generous, without lacking finesse or complexity. Just what you'd expect from a fine Pinot-Noir from our region. The harvest took place from August 25 to September 10, and was relatively abundant. The grapes were very healthy and required little sorting; one vintage follows another and no two are alike.
